Here is a general idea of topics we will be discussing this week.
Religion finish discussing grace, discipleship and parables, begin sacrament of Baptism, symbols and sacramentals Goals: Students will be able to(SWBAT): SWBAT recognize and describe sacramentals used in Baptism and the rite of Baptism SWBAT describe grace as new life SWBAT explain the parable of the vine and branches SWBAT describe discipleship UPCOMING TEST: Wednesday October 7 ( pages 3-16) In person students will need to have their Religion books for Monday 9/28
Math Continue chapter 1 addition and subtraction, continue using Simple Solutions Goals: SWBAT use strategies to help with simple addition-counting on, make a 10, using doubles and near doubles SWBAT become familiar with calendars SWBAT use math vocabulary words in their speaking and writing UPCOMING TEST: ADDITION THURSDAY 10/8 In person students will need their books including Simple Solutions for Monday 9/28
ELA Story: finished with Henry and Mudge Start story: Henry and Mudge Under the Yellow Moon (we skipped story 2 My Family) Vocabulary Words: woods, turned, tops, chipmunks, busy, picked, south, grew Focus strategy: author's purpose, compare and contrast

Grammar: verbs, predicates, complete sentences, types of sentences

STUDENTS WILL NEED THESE SCHOLASTIC NEWS ARTICLES (sent home with the Math book )FOR MONDAY 9/28 CAN A KID BE PRESIDENT? GROW, GROW, GROW YOUR BOAT ( we will not use our Social Studies books on Monday since it will be too much for them to carry-they can bring them in on Tuesday or Wednesday)
